Safety Town is a free program offered to children in the community entering kindergarten at Northwood Local Schools. Safety Town covers safety topics, such as police, fire, bus, railroad, poison control, bicycle safety & a variety of other safety related topics.
Safety Town is hosted at the Northwood Local Schools building, 600 Lemoyne Road. The sessions run from 9:30 am – 11:30 am, Monday – Thursday. Friday’s session will be from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Daily sessions will end with a lunch provided free of charge to all students from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm in the school cafeteria. Parents may bring other children during lunch, who will be provided a free lunch as part of a summer feeding program. Parents are to come to the school cafeteria at 11:30 am daily to pick up their child or to sit with them during lunch. Friday’s session will include a graduation ceremony at the end of the Safe Kids session that morning.
Parents are invited to attend Friday’s session as it will be about car seat safety and bicycle helmets. Children attending Safety Town must be entering kindergarten & must be potty trained. June 10th – 13th: 9:30 am – 11:30 am, lunch at 11:30 am until 12:30 in cafeteria. June 14th: 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Parents are welcome to attend the last day for a graduation ceremony after a car seat & bicycle safety session. Lunch will follow at 11:30 am until 12:30 pm in the school cafeteria.
